Check our latest %23volunteer opportunity: July Essential Trail Maintenance via%20%40GozAround
The Natural Bridge Appalachian Trail Club's (NBATC) Wednesday Crew welcomes you to join one of their weekly essential maintenance trips on the Appalachian Trail. From the simple removal of branches, to more complex projects such as constructing new trail, essential maintenance keeps the Trail in good condition. Individuals (like you!) volunteer their time to perform these tasks.
Major summer tasks consist of weed cutting and brush trimming. Drainages are cleaned year-round to get water off the Trail. This helps to mitigate erosion along the Trail's dirt path. Trail structures such as water bars and steps also help to mitigate erosion and these structures often need to be repaired or replaced.
